Victor Wembanyama has made a name for himself for his exceptional ball skills and shooting ability from a distance. Despite Wembanyama’s devastating defeat in the French league Finals, everyone is eagerly anticipating his arrival in the NBA to compete alongside the world’s top athletes. In a recent interview with the Good Morning America host Robin Roberts, Wemby shared his appreciation for the fans and the NBA stars.
On being asked how he reacts to the pressure that goes along with the anticipation of him playing in the NBA. Wembanyama said, “The most important for this is to have your goal in sight, I have such high expectations from myself,?and I’m so determined that the expectations of others are nothing compared to what I think of myself.”
Wembanyama stands 7’4″ tall with an eight-foot wingspan. His getting drafted by the Spurs will be a chance for him to create a legacy for the franchise and put his name alongside his compatriot Tony Parker.
When LeBron James called Wembanyama “Alien”
Last year, in October, the 4x NBA champion shared his opinion on the 19-year-old French star. He described him as more than just a unicorn, but rather an alien due to his exceptional height and graceful skills on the court. James emphasized that the player’s unique combination of size and agility is something rarely seen before.
Wemby’s reaction to James calling him “Alien” was unique. He said, ?I?m really glad he said that because I didn?t like to be called a unicorn,? He added, ?I like it because it?s just something not from this world. I like being called an alien, yeah. It?s really what I?m working to be?something unique and original.?
