In a recent interview on SiriusXM, Barkley revealed how he used to pay his mom. He was paying his mother $50,000 a year, which was the highest in Leeds, Alabama, where she lived. However, Charcey Glenn recalls that the associates working for Barkley would ask for extra money each month.
Listening to the demands of his mother, Barkley was utterly shocked. He said to his mother, “Mom, what the hell are you doing?” He also paid any and all house bills. However, it was seemingly not enough for his mother.
The wealthy habits of Chracey Glenn continued. In 2002, Barkley said to Jim Gray that his mother couldn’t live on $2 million a year now. Further revealing that his mother would ask him for more every year. He apparently said to his mother, “I built you a house, you’ve two cars, can you not survive on 50-60 grand a year?” Barkley’s mother sardonically replied, “I got to spend money, I’m Charles Barkley’s mother.”
