There was a minute and a half to go in the third quarter when Minnesota Timberwolves star Austin Rivers missed a three-pointer. The Orlando Magic bench then seemed to mock Rivers. Following this, multiple whistles went off. The arena erupted in chaos as players from the Minnesota Timberwolves and Orlando Magic rosters rushed to one end of the court. A fight had broken out between Rivers and Magic’s Mo Bamba. The fight involved swinging punches and falling on the ground. Several other players locked heads and contributed to the chaos. Coaches, other staff members of the teams, and game officials put in their best efforts to control the situation. However, moments after this brawl, a slew of ejections came flying toward multiple players.

As per ESPN, “Rivers, Jaden McDaniels, and Taurean Prince were ejected from the Timberwolves;?Jalen Suggs was tossed along with Bamba for Orlando.” The NBA world tried to wrap its head around this royal rumble-like situation. With that said, the fight continued online. After the final buzzer, Rivers and Bamba shot daggers at each other via their Instagram handles.
On-court beef continues online between NBA players
Following his ejection, Austin Rivers typed up a paragraph on his Instagram story. Rattled by the on-court debacle, Rivers boasted that he took on Bamba without any support from his teammates.
In a message addressing Bamba, he wrote, “U needed ur teammates otherwise u would of been chocked out.” He then went on to state that Bamba was only famous because of a rap song written by the Magic star?s friend, Scheck Wes. The song in question is called ‘Mo Bamba’. Rivers wrote, “We only know u from an old rap song.. not hoops.”?

The message didn’t stop there. Rivers, who played at Winter Park in Orlando, claimed that Orlando was his city. He added, “Ask around an actually find out. They don’t mess with u there… facts!”?He paired the story with a shush emoji. Furthermore, Bamba didn’t hold back either. He too had a message for Rivers but he voiced his thoughts with the help of a picture.

Tensions were high as the game later continued and resulted in a win for the Orlando Magic. The Magic beat the Wolves by 7 points in the end, resulting in their 21st win of the NBA season so far.?

For the Orlando Magic, seven players bagged points in double digits while Cole Antony led the list with 20 points. On the other hand, the Wolves pack was led by D?Angelo Russell?s 29 points and Anthony Edwards? 19. However, their performance was in vain as the momentum stuck with Orlando throughout the game.?
