Although he lives in a cozy San Francisco nest, Steph’s heart still beats for Oakland, a city he called home for a decade. The city’s iconic MLB team Oakland Athletics and their faithful supporters are now on the verge of heartbreak. And since he loves the city so much, Steph seems to be concerned about the Athletics.

Recently, the Golden State icon spilled the beans on the alarming concerns that loom over the A’s and their fanbase. Meanwhile, the preparation for Oakland’s upcoming ‘Reverse Boycott’ has now picked full momentum.

Ever since the new ownership took the reins of the Oakland A’s, the MLB side witnessed a significant drop in its fanbase. Quite a lot of fans have even stopped showing up for the A’s games, citing unfair treatment from the owners. Throwing things further out of the kilter, owner, John Fisher is now planning to move the side from Oakland to Las Vegas. Besides, there is also a narrative that the A’s are moving to Vegas because of the lack of support in Oakland. A bunch of Athletics faithful, however, have now decided to show the world they still love the A’s.

Oakland fans are organizing a ‘reverse boycott’ in the June 13, Oakland-Tampa Bay matchup. The game is now known among Athletics fans as a ‘reverse boycott game.’ As preparations for the boycott are in full swing, NBA superstar Stephen Curry has spoken up on the importance of keeping A’s in Oakland. “Just keeping as many professional teams in this area because it matters. The community has something to look forward to and be proud of and bring out that Oakland pride,”?Curry said in an interview with ABC News.

Curry also added that he is still able to reach the fanbase in Oakland despite moving to San Francisco. Moreover, Stephen Curry also said he really hopes that the Athletics will stay in Oakland. Maybe the ‘reverse boycott’ will affect the future of the franchise.

Oakland faithful prepare for the reverse boycott game

According to Sports Illustrated, the Athletics’ booster club Oakland 68’s plans to raise $25,000 in order to print 5,000 t-shirts for the ‘reverse boycott’ game. The booster club plans to give away t-shirts that read, “Sell.” As per the recent report, Oakland 68’s has been able to raise $18,000 for the cause.

Quite a lot of Oakland backers will gather in the stands once again and show the front office how much they love their side.
