After splitting the first two games on their home court, the Boston Celtics entered Philadelphia for Game 3. On a night of celebration for the 76ers, Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown led the way as the Celtics managed to take down the Philly 114-102. Even though James Harden and the 76ers had to face a heartbreaking loss, the game didn’t conclude without some controversy involving the newly crowned MVP Joel Embiid, leaving fans to crucify him on social media.

After Embiid was presented the ‘Michael Jordan Trophy’ for his brilliant season, things went south for the 76ers. Philly handed the home-court advantage back to Boston in the process.?However, fans were more concerned about Joel Embiid?s scary incident with Celtics forward Grant Williams.

Joel Embiid has a scary collision with Celtics star

The Boston Celtics managed to get a huge win in front of a raucous Philadelphia crowd. Although the Celtics played with just an eight-man rotation, they managed to make the most of it. However, they could have suffered as the team almost lost one huge defensive asset during the game, Grant Williams.

Williams played a total of 23 minutes in Game 3. Though he did not score any points, his contributions came on the defensive end of the floor, along with hustle plays as well. Unfortunately, one of those hustle plays left him bloodied and in pain on the floor. With a little over five minutes left to play in the fourth quarter, Philadelphia 76ers star James Harden tried to get the ball to Joel Embiid in the high post.

An undersized Jaylen Brown was defending Embiid and decided to dive at the entry pass and deny him the ball. In the process, he collided with his teammate Williams, who also landed on the floor beside him.

Embiid, who was in momentum towards the ball, tripped on Brown and fell on the floor as well. Unfortunately, Embiid ended up stepping on the back of Williams? head, leading him to bleed profusely and go to the bench. It was one of those scary plays that left fans worrying for Williams’ future.

Fans were left in shock after the incident

Grant Williams was in excruciating pain after the whole incident took place. As he sat down on the bench to receive medical assistance, fans could see the severity of his injury.
