Sorrow wasn’t going to remain long in the city of Memphis. Despite missing out on their franchise cornerstone, Ja Morant, the Memphis Grizzlies put the Los Angeles Lakers to sleep in Game 2. Smiles all around the FedEx Forum returned, and back along came an old tradition. A beaming Morant got his daughter, Kaari, on the mic to perform the deed, but NBA fans weren’t feeling the love in the building.
The Grizzlies won convincingly beating the Purple and Gold 103-93 to level the series at 1-1. The team will now travel to Los Angeles for a pair of road games that could potentially dictate the winner of this series.

Ja Morant shares a moment with his daughter after beating the Lakers in Game 2
Morant’s horrific wrist injury kept the All-Star guard on the sidelines. But that didn’t stop the 23-year-old from joining in on the celebrations. After watching his teammates level the series, it was up to Morant to say a proper goodbye to the Grizzlies crowd before taking the series to Los Angeles. And what better way than to bring back his ritual of rapping NBA Youngboy’s lyrics?

Generally, it would be Morant doing the giddy, feeling his feet and screaming “It’s a parade inside my city yeah.” However, this time he gave the honors to his 3-year-old daughter. It was a heartwarming moment as Kaari Morant, in her way, incited louder cheers from a Memphis crowd who were in seventh heaven.

Surprisingly, this isn’t the first time Morant’s daughter has bravely stepped on the mic with thousands of eyes watching on. Only a month ago when the Grizzlies superstar returned back to action after serving an eight-game suspension, the 3-year-old celebrated the win similarly.
The cute moment touched the hearts of the Grizzlies fans. But the same can’t be said for the NBA world.
NBA Fans rip Morant and the Grizzlies for celebrating
Even the adorable Kaari Morant didn’t help to hold back the NBA fans who went right after the Memphis Grizzlies for celebrating just one win. Some targeted Morant in particular with fans saying, “Bro. Ja. Cmon now”
“Why he so happy bro your team is better without you”?
“fck your parade get on the court”
Then there were some who have had enough of Morant’s celebration. They said, “That sh*t getting old”
