Giannis Antetokounmpo is on the rise and there’s no setting of his sun in the periphery of vision. The Greek Freak is just 26 and his hunger for another title is bigger than his overall experience. This is as good a news for the Milwaukee Bucks as it is for the NBA league because they now have a ruler to take over the reigns.

The Freak is 6’11” in height, weighs 240 lbs, and his muscles look like that of the ancient Greek gods. So naturally, he likes everything big. No wonder he had aspirations of the biggest championship ring and that’s what he recently got. So what’s next on the order for this larger-than-life personality?

Magic Johnson believes Giannis Antetokounmpo is the future

In a recent show with ESPN’s Mallika Andrews and former champion Kendrick Perkins, Magic Johnson gave his outlook. He first joked about how his five rings are not as big as the Bucks’ one. Then, he threw heaps of praise on Giannis Antetokounmpo and how he fared in the opener against the Brooklyn Nets.

However, it were his closing remarks that stood out. The NBA Hall of Famer expressed, “This young man is about… when LeBron goes and KD goes through his thing. It’s going to be Giannis’s league and he is serious about winning back-to-back championships. So, we just can’t say Brooklyn is just going to automatically win because Giannis and Milwaukee say, ‘Hey wait don’t forget about us’.”

This prediction, coming from a man who played with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, competed against Michael Jordan, and brought LeBron James to the Lakers, is huge. And with KD still having at least five active years left, the claim of Giannis taking over gets even crazier.

First thing first, is appetite to do better. It was evident from his July 2021 interviews that Giannis Antetokounmpo is far from done. In fact, he’s just getting started. So, the first title win has only got him the taste of blood and now he wants more & more.

Plus, he has fueled this into his teammates too, who are equally bent on winning consecutive titles. So once he does that, he will be in the same conversation as Bron (2012, 2013) & KD (2017, 2018). And given Giannis is a former MVP, DPOY, FMVP, and an All-Star giant, he has very few things to correct in order to become a Bucks cum NBA GOAT.

Well, the GOAT is still a 10-year down the line far, but Giannis can achieve it before Luka Doncic or anyone else takes over. Do you agree with the whole assessment? Help us learn your views in the comments section below.
