Kendrick Lamar dropped his latest album and the world cannot get enough of it. NBA stars like LeBron James gave their reactions to the “Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers” and safe to say, they seem to enjoy it. In an interesting piece of news that will intrigue NBA fans, Lamar referenced Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard and his teammate in one of his old songs.

In a track belonging to the “good kid, m.A.A.d city” album, Kendrick talked about Arron Afflalo and how the rapper watched in awe while Affalo played basketball.

For the uninitiated, Affalo actually had a stint in the NBA. He spent 12 seasons in the league playing for teams like the Denver Nuggets, Orlando Magic, and the Detroit Pistons. He retired from the league after the 2017-18 season with an average of 10.8 points, 1.8 assists, and 2.9 rebounds. 

In the song Black Boy Fly, Lamar wrote the song, “I used to be jealous of Arron Afflalo
He was the one to follow
He was the only leader foreseeing brighter tomorrows,” Lamar rapped.

Kendrick is not the only rapper Affalo played with

Interestingly enough, Affalo played with another rapper during his days in the NBA. It is none other than Damian Lillard of the Portland Trail Blazers.

Lillard has established himself as one of the best rappers in the league currently. Going with the name Dame D.O.L.L.A, he has multiple hits to his name.

Consequently, he was invited to perform during the NBA All-Star weekend of 2020. Lillard delivered a treat for the fans along with Hip Hop legend Lil Wayne.

As for Lillard, he faces competition from the likes of Miles Bridges. The Charlotte Hornets star is an established rapper himself who manages to break records.
