Tyson was on the podcast Club Shay Shay with Shannon Sharpe. He was asked if he likes meeting superstars and global icons. He said, “You know um, it humbles you… I understand why athletes respect each other because you have to be around real people and know who you are before somebody tells you who you are.”

“We have to be fathers; we have to take care of our kids and all that superstar iconic sh-t got to go out the window,”

Tyson says that as superstars they need to take care of their family and friends first, before embracing fame. He added that you need to have discipline and sacrifice before reaching the top. Tyson also adds many people are willing to sacrifice, but they do not like what comes with it.

To be fair, LeBron James and Michael Jordan have done that. Jordan was a global icon in the 90s and he was the face of the league. Jordan may have had a win-at-all-costs attitude on the court, but he always respected fans and responded to them with love. He made sure he took care of his family and, for the most part of his career, he stayed out of controversy. Jordan is also known for his charitable contributions throughout the years.

And LeBron James took it to the next level. While Jordan came into the league aged 21, LeBron entered the league at the age of 18 out of high school. He had the spotlight of the world on him as he nicknamed himself ‘The Chosen one.’ And with all that eyes on him, LeBron James has not put a foot wrong. In his 19 years in the league, LeBron has never been in trouble with anything. He has always been a family man and a great father to his kids. He also does various philanthropic contributions and uses his voice to address social issues.
