There is an implicit connection between the NBA and the hip-hop world. Over the years, many NBA stars have been spotted interacting with rappers and hip-hop artists. This relationship was brought to the core after the unfortunate passing of rapper Takeoff last year. The NBA world mourned the loss of the youngest member of Migos. Stars like LeBron James paid tribute to Takeoff by emulating his look. The remaining members of Migos, Quavo and Offset, reunited to honor Takeoff?s legacy at the BET Awards, which also got the seal of approval from a 24-year-old NBA star.

The hip-hop group Migos broke up in 2021. Now, there was no definitive reason given as to why the group decided to go their separate ways. However, there were some issues surrounding loyalty that led the group to disband. Unfortunately, within a year, the world lost one-third of Migos when Takeoff lost his life, becoming a victim of a shooting.

The hip-hop world was taken aback when Takeoff became a victim of gun violence in Houston, Texas. A video of the whole incident was uploaded online, sending fans into a state of chaos as well. However, when the dust settled, the entire music industry mourned the loss of the 28-year-old rapper. LeBron James gave Takeoff a tribute after his passing at one of their home games by showing up to the arena in a look made famous by the Georgia rapper.

Now, it has been eight months since the tragic events took place. While the rest of the world may have moved on, some still feel deeply about the entire incident.?Quavo and Offset reunited at this year?s BET Awards to honor the late Takeoff and his legacy by performing at the show. The crowd was roaring throughout their performance, sending many in the crowd into their feelings.

The rap group from Atlanta often showed their support for their Hawks by showing up at games. They built a great relationship with 2x All-Star Trae Young as well. And understandably, the 24-year-old was in his feelings while watching the performance.

 

Trae Young went to Twitter to display his excitement about a Migos reunion, be it only for the sake of a single show or to honor their late fellow rapper. Young went on to tweet, ?Qua & Offset reunite?.?The NBA community, like the rest of the world, was taken aback after the news of Takeoff’s unfortunate death.

Takeoff was an avid basketball fan and was often spotted sitting courtside at NBA games. Moreover, the trio performed at the NBA All-Star weekend in 2022 as well. This made him quite familiar and friendly with many NBA stars. One of them being Trae Young himself.

Young was absolutely shocked and heartbroken when the news of Takeoff?s demise started to make the rounds on social media. The youngest member of Migos was shot over a dice game that took place in Houston, which made the news even worse.
