Currently, the highest-paid player in the league is the Golden State Warriors superstar, Stephen Curry. Curry is set to make $48 million for the 2022-23 NBA season. But have you ever wondered how much Michael Jordan would have made in the NBA if he was playing in the league? Let?s break it down, shall we?

Michael Jordan and his contract in today’s NBA

Michael Jordan was easily one of the highest-paid players during his time. He made $30 million in the 1996-97 season and a whopping $33 million in the following 1997-98 NBA season. During the 1998 NBA season, Jordan made more money than the entire payroll of 19 teams in the NBA.

Jordan?s contract was so massive that the league had to implement a maximum salary rule the following season which prevented teams from paying the equivalent of an entire roster?s payroll to one single player.

And if you were to adjust Jordan?s salary to today?s day and age, factoring in inflation and the total revenue generated by the league, it really ends up making LeBron James and Stephen Curry?s contracts look like bargains today.?

Jordan?s salary from the 1998 season would be equivalent to an NBA player making approximately $120 million a year in 2022. And that would end up making even the biggest max contracts offered to players look like spare change.
