Michael Jordan is one of the most respected sports athletes in the world. The NBA great, enjoyed a highly successful career at the Chicago Bulls, cementing his legend status at the franchise. Jordan established a commanding Chicago Bulls dynasty in the 1990s. He was also instrumental in marketing the NBA and the sport worldwide to a larger audience.
Jordan’s daughter Jasmine Jordan recently spoke about the experience of athletes who sign with the Nike Jordan Brand. Jasmine Jordan is currently working as a marketing field representative for the Jordan Brand. In 2018, she assisted in creating a shoe model for the brand named ‘Air Jordan XI Heiress‘.

Jasmine said, “We flew down 8 of our 11 ladies to Florida. We did a media round table, showed them some product. Obviously had a photo shoot and they got to sit down, and interact with my dad and really just get their first feel of what it’s like to be a part of the Jordan family. And we say family, because we truly mean that, we’re going to bring you in, we’re going to get to know you, your parents, your siblings, your aunts, your cousins. They got to see a side of MJ that not a lot of people get to see.”
Alongside his phenomenal achievements, Jordan’s career at the Bulls also produced a multi million dollar lifestyle brand. The ‘Air Jordan’ brand developed by Nike is now a brand with global recognition that produces basketball shoes, athletic, casual, and style clothing. It all started with the original Air Jordan sneakers designed only for Michael Jordan in 1984. The Jordan brand also sponsors the French football club and Ligue 1 giants, Paris Saint-Germain F.C.

Michael Jordan’s mammoth deal with Nike
In 1984, when Michael Jordan signed his first contract with Nike, the brand agreed to a payment of $250,000 and his personal sneaker line. As of 2019, the Nike Jordan brand earned the Chicago Bulls legend an estimated $1.3 billion. Reports estimated the brand to be worth a colossal $3 billion.

Alongside Jordan commercially benefiting from the brand, Nike was also able to catapult into universal popularity. Nike beat other brands like Adidas, Converse, and others to sign Jordan and hit a jackpot. As of 2020, they dominate the lifestyle basketball category with a 96% share. Michael Jordan’s influence cruised over to dominating basketball culture, as he didn’t limit himself to achievements merely on the court.
