Michael Jordan and the word ‘soft’ just don’t go together. At least not when he was playing for the Chicago Bulls back in the day and forming a legacy unlike any other the NBA has ever seen.
Jordan’s competitive nature was not just limited to the basketball court, but beyond that as well. Everything he did, he wanted to give his best. But it seems like that has changed, at least that’s what his daughter Jasmine recently revealed.

What could bring out the softer side of Michael Jordan?
Michael Jordan would do anything to win. Playing rough and trash-talking were some of the many techniques he used to break his opponents. And this wasn’t a quality that he acquired when he entered the league. Those who knew him in college could corroborate for the same. It is this fire for victories that helped him bag six NBA championships along with five MVPs.
But who knew that a softer side of Jordan would come to light once he became a grandfather? His daughter, Jasmine M. Jordan, gave birth to a son in May 2019, a beautiful day for the NBA legend. Jasmine, who was born in 1992, was Jordan’s first child from his first marriage to Juanita Vanoy. And now that he is a grandfather, he obviously has a soft corner for his grandson, Rakeem Michael Christmas.
“Michael Jordan, the grandpa, is soft,” Jasmine revealed. “I mean, my son definitely has my dad wrapped around his finger. He loves being a grandfather, and my son is his first grandchild. That competition and that drive is really going to be in my son’s corner. He’s going to be able to experience that from a grandfather’s lens. The pressure won’t be as hard on my son, but it’ll definitely be there.”
“Michael Jordan, the grandpa, is soft.”@MickiJae got jokes 🤣😂

Will he be able to follow in the Bulls legend’s footsteps?
There was and never will be anybody like Michael Jordan. But a grandson certainly gives his fans hopes that there will be a Jordan lineage to follow in two decades. Of course, this is quite far-fetched but if it does happen, just imagine the fan following little Rakeem would have?
Right now Rakeem is just 2 years old, which means we’d have to wait for approximately two decades to see whether he gets himself in MJ’s steps or not.
