The formula behind the dynastic success of the Golden State Warriors in the past decade has been the simple realization that threes are worth more than twos. Consequently, Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson dominated the league based on that philosophy. However, it’s difficult to imagine any Warriors record involving 3-pointers not being held by the Splash Brothers. But in last night’s game, the unimaginable happened.
Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors faced off against the Houston Rockets at home last night. Curry and Co, without much struggle, took care of business against the Rockets. The Texas team currently stands at the bottom of the Western Conference. However, last night’s game was a field day for the analysts. The game witnessed historic mean inversions from both sides resulting in a new record for the Warriors.

Stephen Curry sets a new three-point record with Andrew Wiggins
The Splash brothers, Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson form a lethal backcourt. Moreover, the two hold the majority of three-point records in the Warriors’ history. However, last night Curry set a new record without Thompson. The 4x NBA champion found a surprising partner in Andrew Wiggins to write history.
Curry and Wiggins became the third set of teammates ever to hit at least eight threes each in a game. They joined Zack Lavine and Coby White, Donovon Mitchel, and Kevin Love as the only teammates to do so. However, it is surprising that Curry and Thompson had never achieved the feat before. And even duos like MJ-Pippen couldn’t come close to achieving such a feat.
As usual, Curry had a dominant performance from behind the arc last night. He made eight threes and scored 30 points while dishing out ten assists and grabbing three rebounds. On the other hand, Wiggins had a career night. He, too, made eight threes(tying a career high) and scored a season-high 36 points. Besides Curry and Wiggins, the entire Warriors squad had a stellar showing behind the arc.
Stellar showing from the Warriors
The Warriors as a unit made 25 three-pointers against the Rockets outscoring them by 75-9 from beyond the arc. The game ended 120-101 in favor of the Dubs. .

After last night’s game, the Warriors added another game to their streak of shooting more than 20 three-pointers a game. Moreover, they also became the first team to reach the 400 mark for made threes this season. But the Warriors’ dominance from three has barely translated to success on the court. They currently stand as the sixth seed with a record of 13-11.
