The horrors continue for Michael Jordan’s franchise as the Charlotte Hornets take another low blow. The Hornets have had a disappointing outing this season with the worst record in the Eastern Conference next to the Detroit Pistons. As an insult to injury, the recent update about Hornet’s point guard LaMelo Ball sent shock waves down the NBA world. The breaking news prompted the fans to flood the social media comment section with varied opinions.

LaMelo Ball is arguably the promising element on the Hornets’ side. Despite the poor record 20-43 in the Eastern Conference, Ball continued to display his class on the hardwood. He averages 23.4 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 8.5 assists in 36 games this season. In the hindsight, the star has fallen prey to frequent injuries and missed a majority of games. Furthermore, the recent update from the Hornets’ management questioned the availability for the rest of the season.

Worries mount for Michael Jordan as Ball sustains another grave injury

During the Monday night game between the Hornets and Detroit Pistons, LaMelo Ball sustained a fracture in his ankle. In the third quarter of the game, Ball suffered a non-contact injury when he twisted his ankle and fell on the ground. He seemed visibly in pain as he held on to his ankle in agony. The 21-year-old star left the court immediately after the injury.

Following the incident, the management released a press statement regarding Ball’s injury.

The Statement read, “An x-ray taken at the arena revealed the fracture…updates regarding his status will be provided as appropriate.” However, there hasn’t been any update on his return to court. Several fans swarmed the comments section with varied opinions after the breaking news. Several fans drew a parallel with LeBron James’ recent ankle injury. Despite Ball’s exit in the third quarter, the Hornets went on to win the game against the Pistons. Terry Rozier pitched in 22 points for a comfortable 117-106 victory.
