Michael Jordan is widely considered to be the greatest player to have ever played in the league. However, His Airness’ reputation as a ruthless leader is well-documented in NBA folklore. In fact, the Chicago Bulls legend’s stories of tough love in the team, mostly popularized by The Last Dance, have gained a lot of traction in NBA circles in recent times. However, an ex-teammate of the late great Kobe Bryant recently provided a different perspective despite rumors of MJ bullying him.
Jordan revolutionized not only the game but also the sneaker industry. The retired icon, however, is much more than what meets the eye for this former Washington Wizards player.

Kwame Brown was the first overall pick for the Washington Wizards, straight out of high school, under Michael Jordan’s team presidency. And while the two did not get along with each other, Brown recently gave an honest and unbiased view of Jordan’s larger-than-life persona.
He shared who the man behind the myth is. Unlike other celebrities, Jordan is not as high-maintenance. Brown conveyed how relatable MJ is to the public than what people assume. During a recent YouTube monologue, he said, “Michael Jordan is not what everybody thinks. Michael Jordan only go to certain places, and if you approach him at certain places you’ll get a regular man answer.”
He further shared another observation that sets MJ apart, “He didn’t act like a celebrity, he might not say he is not a celebrity, but in real life, he don’t act like a celebrity. He might be with Charles Oakley and this small little white guy named Georgie [George Koehler (MJ’s assistant)], and that’s it. [MJ] don’t have no armed bodyguards, no security, none of that.”
It sure is a refreshing insight into the billionaire’s personal life.
