The beef that started in 2022 between the Phoenix Suns guard, Kevin Durant, and the Philadelphia 76ers legend, Charles Barkley recently got reignited as they exchanged some harsh words. This time, Barkley called him and this generation’s players “sensitive”. Durant replied to this by saying he would never respect the words uttered by the Sixers legend. Meanwhile, a former Chicago Bulls player who does analysis on live TV recently weighed in on the beef by bringing up the name of NBA icon Michael Jordan.
The player-turned-analyst Jay Williams recently dragged MJ’s name through the mud while giving his take on the recent beef. This, in turn, elicited the attention of fans and prompted them to reflect on the affair on social media.

In the latest episode of ESPN’s?First Take,?Williams wanted to give his two cents about the recent beef between Charles Barkley and KD. He started by saying that he loves Chuckster and he was his guy. Subsequently, he added, “But when I hear him call our generation of players ?sensitive,? the only moment I?m going to have where I drop the mic is?Michael Jordan.”
The Bulls player continued, “The guy who was tougher than nails itself refuses to talk to Charles Barkley because of a criticism he had against him as it relates to being in ownership.” The 41-year-old finished by saying, “Maybe this is all players of all different generations who use criticism and sensitivities to motivate us to be better.”
Jordan and Barkley were best friends, but now they don’t share a good relationship. MJ stopped talking to the Chuckster after the 11x All-Star criticized the six-time champion over a decade ago. His Airness, who was considered to be one of the toughest personalities, got offended after receiving the criticism.
Williams, by giving this example, wanted to point out that Sir Charles’ remarks were not at all true as players from his generation were also sensitive.
Fans concur with Williams
Shortly after Williams poured out his thoughts, NBA Central?shared his message on their official Twitter page. As a result of this, fans swarmed into the comment section to express their own opinions. Most of them agreed with what the analyst had to say.
One fan said, “Michael Jordan is a sensitive guy . That?s why he always ?took things personal? . Nothing wrong with it bc he used it as motivation but Jordan is definitely sensitive.” Here are some more reactions from fans:

Didn’t MJ retire at 31 cuz he was burnt out??? Hilarious he doesn’t get more shit for this. Doesn’t sound very tough not very tough at all, actually pretty sensitive. MJ is also my 🐐 but we love to be selective when it comes to him and his history

One user even expressed that fans of Jordan always think their idol is never wrong.

I'm an older guy. But older guys seem to have no grasp on how flawed their heroes were and how the extra access and media we have surrounding the sport today exposes things that wouldn't have been 30 and 40 years ago.

The more that generation worships MJ while hating on this one the more I dislike MJ.
That being said… LeBron>MJ. I don't care how many rings MJ has.
