The NBA fraternity is well aware of Michael Jordan being a competitive maniac. Most times fans saw it in the games where he would let his ‘killer’ instinct take control. However, he wasn’t any different outside either. Rounds of golf could turn into big-money matchups and there were always the card games. In these sorts of contests though, rivals might have had a chance to beat him but there was one guy who challenged MJ on a basketball court and the betting stakes shocked a WNBA legend.
The story is about 3x Sixth Man of The Year Jamal Crawford challenging His Airness to a three-point contest. It began with money but would soon turn into a ‘Fast and Furious’ kind of deal offering his $450,000 Ferrari.

Michael Jordan’s competition stories are never-ending. Many of his peers said there was nothing Jordan didn’t compete in but it was rare to see someone challenge the basketball phenom, especially on the basketball court. Yet that is what Jamal Crawford did. He called out the five-time MVP for a three-point contest, one of MJ’s weakest skills.
A career 32% shooter, it wasn’t a surprise Jordan lost the first round. At the time, each loss cost him $1000 dollars but these takes weren’t high enough. For the next round, MJ decided to put up his priced Ferrari on the line. If the six-time champion won though, Crawford would have to give up his Mercedes Benz.
Fresh off a win, Crawford accepted not knowing what he had got himself into.
The NBA world knows well what happens when you push His Airness in an atmosphere of intense pressure. He proceeded to nail all his five shots, an impeccable score his rival couldn’t beat. So Jordan walked out, took off Crawford’s license plate, and drove off in his Benz.
