Michael Jordan once declared that winning his seventh NBA championship ring as the majority owner of the Charlotte Hornets franchise will be more gratifying than any of his six rings won with the Chicago Bulls. According to Michael Jordan, the assignment to bring home a championship is much more difficult as a team owner than as a player.
Accordingly, bringing home a championship for his home state of North Carolina would be “more gratifying” for him than winning his six rings with the 90s Bulls. In fact, Jordan is determined to tackle this unique challenge in his post-playing career and bag his seventh championship ring.

Michael Jordan has been criticized for his management of the Hornets franchise as a majority owner. The NBA legend acquired the Charlotte Bobcats in 2010 for a whopping $275 million. Afterward, the franchise changed its name to the Charlotte Hornets.
Jordan is arguably the greatest basketball player ever. But his performance as an owner has been underwhelming. In fact, the Charlotte Hornets are the oldest franchise in the history of North American major sports teams to never win a division title.
To add insult to injury, the Hornets haven’t been to the playoffs since the 2017-18 season. They came very close to breaking the curse this year. In fact, the 59-year-old Bulls legend emphasized on building up a team for his home state. “I am especially pleased to have the opportunity to build a winning team in my home state of North Carolina“, he said after the acquisition.
