However, MJ managed to catch tennis legend John McEncroe?s eye even before he made it to the NBA.?

Michael Jordan’s legacy to the game made him one of the greatest players of all time. He made it to the NBA straight out of college and achieved insurmountable amounts of success during his 19-season-long career. MJ went on to win six NBA championships with the Chicago Bulls and was awarded the Finals MVP on all six occasions. McEnroe introduced famous NBA Insider to Michael Jordan

Michael Jordan shared a great friendship with legendary NBA Insider Ahmad Rashad. The former professional football player featured prominently in Jordan?s documentary series, ‘The Last Dance’.?

Rashad appeared as a special guest on TNT?s ‘The Steam Room’ show. During his conversations, the Emmy-winning sportscaster revealed that retired tennis legend John McEnroe first told him about Michael Jordan. Ahmad said, ?He said you gotta watch this guy in North Carolina. You gotta watch this guy.? ?

McEnroe was the one who brought Jordan to Rashad?s notice. Further, Rashad shared that he first met Jordan?during Magic Johnson?s Midsummer Night Dream charity game. That was when Rashad first saw MJ in action and exchanged phone numbers after the game. Jordan & Rashad stayed in touch and became close friends over the years.?

Michael Jordan has set some records so high that no one has ever been able to come close to them, even after almost 20 years since his retirement. Most NBA fans and experts believe that the NBA has never seen a bigger player than MJ. He achieved the scoring title ten times in his long career. The only player to have come closest to the feat was Los Angeles Lakers legend Wilt Chamberlain, with seven scoring titles.?

Jordan also managed to surpass Chamberlain’s highest league average of 30.0 points. MJ currently has the highest average record, with 30.1 points per game. MJ also holds the record for the most points per game in an NBA Finals series. Jordan averaged 41 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 6.3 assists per game during the 1993 NBA Finals series against the Phoenix Suns.?
