LeBron James is a synonym for greatness. Ageless, timeless, eternally outstanding player. 19 years in the NBA and he has never had a dull season. Repeatedly, he has proved his worth and also proved why he is in the GOAT debate. In his most recent performance, he proved that age is just a number for him. Although it is doubtful if he actually is 37 because he surely doesn’t play like that.

Friday night LeBron James put up a blockbuster performance. Storming the Wizards by dropping his 2nd 50 point game in a single week like it was nothing. He scored 50 points in consecutive home games and stepped off that court with everyone up on their feet applauding for him. It was a thundering performance, which comprised 7 rebounds and 6 assists with 72% FG as well.

NBA fans go crazy on Twitter in praise of LeBron James

LeBron is the only player since Kobe Bryant in 2007 to score 50 points in consecutive home games for the Lakers. He is the 6th on the list for most 50 point games in a career. Nobody can come close to Wilt Chamberlain (118) but LeBron with 14 such games is a feat in itself. Especially when he has reached this milestone at the age of 37 years. This was indeed a statement performance. He was commanding, effective, accurate, assertive, dominant and just like he was on the court, fans were on fire on Twitter.

LeBron deserves all the praise and shouts of being the “GOAT.” But the harsh truth of the matter is that the Lakers are still the 9th seed. Without the 50 point game from King James, the Lakers would have struggled once again and might have even lost the game. Once again, Russel Westbrook was way, way off the mark. He did provide 9 assists but only scored 5 points in 31 minutes. On the other hand, Malik Monk and Austin Reeves provided energy and promise just like they have all season.
