The Miami Heat were close to making the Finals this year but were denied by the Celtics in a pulsating Game 7. Jimmy Butler and company performed spectacularly this postseason but couldn’t beat the Celtics in 7 games. Apart from Butler, there was no real scorer on the team, something that was clearly evident in the closing stages of games.

The Heat seriously needs a locker room presence, as Butler alone can not do everything. Apart from a veteran presence, another elite scorer on the team would do them wonders. According to the latest rumors, Miami has set its eyes on a few targets.

Miami Heat would love to have Beverley on their roster

The Heat had PJ Tucker, who played a major role, but wasn’t active on the offensive end. Butler went all out in the playoffs and averaged 27 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists. Pat Bev is the type of player who would hype up his teammates and bring energy to the team. The Heat can afford to trade for him anyway.

This trade could include Duncan Robinson and young guys like Omer Yurtseven. While Robinson is too much to give up for just Beverley, the Wolves might as well give away Jarred Vanderbilt. Apart from this, there will definitely be future draft picks involved. It was evident after the postseason that Heat desperately needs more help to make it to the Finals.

That help can be an active veteran presence like Pat Bev or a scorer like Bradley Beal who will enter free agency this summer. Being able to trade for someone like Beverley would be a viable option. The Heat is officially championship contenders after struggling for a good amount of seasons.

Jimmy Butler will need help

Being the dominant scorer he is, Butler will need backup on the team. Butler knows how to involve his teammates, but teammates who can score like him would be great. This might as well lead to a dynasty in franchise history, after LeBron and D-Wade’s time.
