Dwyane Wade might have played with superstars like Shaquille O’Neal and Gary Payton, but none of them were anywhere near to the quality of LeBron James. In 2010, when Bron joined the Heat in the infamous ‘The Decision’ the Heat straight up became a frightening team.
After years of contemplation, the long-time friends were finally going to play with each other. With the big three of Wade, James, and Bosh, the Heat became one of the most hated teams in the league and were instant favorites for the title. But one couldn’t hate quality basketball.
With Wade and LeBron developing chemistry, the Heat became a must-watch for every fan. While Bosh was a natural fit, it was ‘Flash’ and ‘L-Train‘ who had to adjust to the new system. Once they did, there was no stopping the Heat. Miami went on to win 2 championships and made 4 appearances in the Finals.
The D-Wade-LeBron partnership was not done yet. For the 2017-18 season, Wade was reunited with his friend for the Cavaliers. But injuries marred his time with the Cavs. He later joined the Heat in a mid-season trade.
LeBron James’ friend Dwyane Wade reveals his favorite teammate ever
Given the history that both LeBron and D-Wade have, it would be expected that Wade would suggest that Bron was his favorite teammate. But the 39-year-old certainly surprised many with his recent response to the same.
In an appearance on the ‘I Am Athlete’ podcast, the 13-time All-Star opened up about who really is his favorite teammate. Wade said, “That’s a tough question right there because your favorite teammate is not normally the names that people know so it’s not normally the star players right everybody wants me to say LeBron.”

Wade later revealed his favorite teammate ever. “Udonis Haslem is my favorite teammate of all time. So UD’s number one because I didn’t have to worry about s**t.
“We came in together but whenever I was in the club, whenever I was out anywhere in Miami, whenever I was on the court, UD have my back.
“We started building a brotherhood. So obviously we got closer, and we won championships together you know I mean we did all that but like off the court I ain’t never had to worry about nothing in Miami because it’s like ‘yo UD got me’.”
Udonis Haslem has really been the cornerstone of a Miami Heat franchise, which has seen its fair share of ups and downs. Ever since his debut in the NBA, Haslem has been a solid rotational piece for the Heat.
The organization certainly values the loyalty, and leadership Haslem provides. Despite minimal contribution on the court, Miami signed the 40-year-old in a 1-year contract. Can Haslem guide a bunch of young stars to an NBA title this season?
