Avatar directed by James Cameron hit theatres worldwide in 2009. It was an instant blockbuster as the film broke many box office records. Finally, after much anticipation, the sequel to the superhit film was released recently.

‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ hit the screens on the 16th of December. Unlike the first installment of the film, it hasn’t received the reception it expected.

Los Angeles Lakers legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar joined millions across the world to call out the movie’s ‘predictable’ plot. Jabbar wrote, “There’s a ‘50s vibe to the plot. Mostly, the men are strong, silent, and manly, the women emotional and spiritual. Dads bond with sons, mothers with daughters. Most of the conflicts result from the children disobeying the parents—again and again. The dialogue, the plot, and the characters are all woefully predictable”
