The game between team USA and team France got off to a fantastic start as USA took a commanding 7 point lead with a 22-15 scoreline. With many stars chipping in, it looked like business as usual for the favorites.

They continued to build on this lead against the French team in the second quarter as well as they ended up with a 45-37 scoreline. While they looked comfortable at the end of the first half, third quarter was a big mess for US.

Celtics’ guard Evan Fournier took control for the European giants in the third quarter as the French team connected multiple three-point shots. With the team hitting shots and US going cold, not only did France equalled the score, they took a 6-point lead at the end of the third quarter with a 62-56 scoreline.

But Durant and Co. looked in control once again as they had their own run of scoring in the fourth quarter. Courtesy of newly crowned NBA champion Jrue Holiday, team USA took a lead of 74-67.

But as it happened in third quarter, team USA fell flat, as the European giants cruised to a 83-76 win. Given how star-studded the US team was, this result was a big shocker and historic in many ways as they broke their 24-game winning streak.
