Jimmy Butler has solidified his position as one of the premier players in the league. However, there is one characteristic that sets him apart from his peers: extraordinary self-belief. Butler has displayed his confidence on numerous occasions, most notably in game 7 against the Boston Celtics. Despite facing a three-game losing streak, Butler boldly declared that his team would emerge victorious in game 7, and they indeed did.
Despite Butler’s leadership and a team-oriented approach, the Miami Heat have struggled to pose significant challenges for the formidable Denver Nuggets. Led by Nikola Jokic, the Nuggets convincingly defeated the Heat with a score of 108-95 in game 4. Aaron Gordon contributed 27 points and played a pivotal role, while Jokic showcased his skills with a double-double of 23 points and 12 assists.
Bruce Brown also made a valuable contribution with 21 points. On the other side, Butler scored 25 points, along with 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Bam Adebayo recorded a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds, although it was not enough to secure a victory.
Following the game 4 loss, Butler made a bold statement in his postgame interview.
On being asked what message he wants to convey to his team for the upcoming game 5, Butler replied, “No doubt, we don’t have any of that. We don’t have no quit. We gonna continuously fight starting tomorrow to get better and then we’re going on a Monday and do what we said. We’re gonna do this entire time and win. We have to, we have no other choice. Otherwise, we did all this for no reason. So, the guys know, we know, we got something to do.”
