NBA superstar LeBron James has always been the best player on every team he has ever played for. It is safe to say that still has not changed even though he is 37. Despite his age, he is showing no signs of slowing down on the offensive end. However, the Los Angeles Lakers are having a very poor season. The Lakers not making the playoffs last year and their performances this season have raised some questions about James’ leadership and ability to lead his team to success.

The Lakers faced the Dallas Mavericks during NBA’s Christmas day games. James took the top spot as the player with the most Christmas day games ever with 17. He put up a masterful performance as well. However, they lost the game 124-115.

Jeff Van Gundy’s take on LeBron James

ESPN analysts Mike Breen, Jeff Van Gundy, and Doris Burke analyzed and gave their take on all the Christmas day games. Talking about the Lakers, Burke marveled at the performance of LeBron James. The four-time champion scored 38 points, with 6 rebounds and 5 assists. She noted “father time” has not derailed his numbers. Burke then added she was worried that one of the best players of all time, James, is a long way from title contention.

On the other hand, Jeff Van Gundy was not impressed with LeBron. As per reports from NBA, he stated, “The numbers are going to be there. But when you get to that level, it’s about how much can you drive winning. The Lakers have not been good the last couple of years. It may not be his fault. But it is his responsibility. That’s how you’re judged.”
