Nike hired Sonny Vaccaro in the early 8os to help the basketball and sports division of the company. For the first few years, Vaccaro and Nike struggled to excel, but in 1984, their fortunes changed. Vaccaro discovered a basketball player and strived to make him the best basketball shoe ever. With this goal, he walked up to a shoemaker and discussed ideas around making the best kicks. Curiosity consumed the shoemaker. Nonchalantly, he asked Vaccaro for details about the player. Vaccaro said, “Michael Jordan”. This series of events is featured in the trailer of the movie, ‘Air’, posted by Amazon.

Directed by Ben Affleck, ‘Air’ details the story of how Michael Jordan and Nike developed a life-changing partnership. It highlights the rocky journey led by a leap of faith and highlights how the Air Jordans helped Nike revolutionize the sporting world. Ben Affleck plays the role of Nike’s found Phil Knight while his good friend Matt Damon portrays the role of Sonny Vaccaro. Other notable names in the cast are Viola Davis, Jason Bateman, and Chris Tucker. As the trailer hit the internet, several Hollywood stars were quick to comment on the upcoming movie.

Hollywood stars react to new movie on Nike and Michael Jordan

Jennifer Lopez, a superstar herself and the wife of Affleck, was beyond excited. She posted the trailer on her Instagram handle and paired it with a caption that read, “Air..cannot wait!” She tagged the actors in the movie while also sharing the post on her story. Over 9 million people viewed her post while members of the Hollywood glitz and glamor also shared their thoughts.

Actor Jason Momoa filled his comment with several heart emojis, showing his love and support for the project. Tracy Anderson, a fitness content creator, claimed that chills ran through her body after watching the trailer. Many other celebs commented on the video and stated they were beyond excited about the movie’s release. With that said, WNBA star Sabrina Ionescu shared a story on Instagram about the movie as well. However, Michael Jordan and the rest of his family are yet to react to the movie.
