When this season began, everyone, including fans, had different plans for the Brooklyn Nets. However, with rules and injuries in place, Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving ended up missing a significant chunk of their time on the court. Furthermore, the team parted ways with James Harden, and received Ben Simmons in return.
In light of this, the possibility of the team getting better has decreased. However, the latest update about Durant’s injury has given fans and team something to look up to.
UPDATE: Kevin Durant is expected to make his return from injury with the Nets within this next week, via ESPN.

Kevin Durant’s possible return sends fans into a frenzy online
According to reports, Kevin Durant might be back this upcoming week. Though no game is specified, it looks like the two-time NBA Champion will be back to start March off for the Nets. With the playoffs nearing, it is crucial for the team to perform at a high level.

While the playoff themselves are in no way similar to the regular seasons, Irving and Durant (along with Simmons), need time to practice and play together on the court. When Harden was with the team, the team’s big three only ended up playing 16 games together.
Of course, Durant’s return could even help the Nets ? currently placed eighth ? move up the Eastern Conference rankings.

Hey Nets fans, maybe if your team didn’t try and build a superteam with a bunch of washed 70-year olds you wouldnt have to constantly make excuses about your team losing by 30 every night

Damn u really was on the money ! Basketball Gods heard your prayers

By the looks of it, basketball fans were praying for Durant to return soon. Irving and Durant playing together could instill some hope and confidence, which looks like it is needed right now. The 33-year-old has not played since the Nets went against the Pelican and won my 120-105 on January 15.
The Nets’ current position on the points table will get them into the play-in tournament but does not guarantee a playoff spot. With Durant, averaging 29.3 points before his injury, back, the team easily has a better chance of winning.
Having said that, not all fans were impressed. Some wondered if Durant will have to ‘carry’ Simmons during games, which could eventually hamper the Nets’ pace. Furthermore, it might be some time before Simmons actually debuts for the team.

?I?m sure it?s possible, but for me it?s probably, again, in the next three games more likely than Saturday,? Steve Nash said about Durant’s return before their game against the Milwaukee Bucks.
Additionally, even Goran Dragic might make his return alongside Durant.
Durant, along with Simmons and Dragic, will have to pass a few tests to return. Nash explained that everyone is at a different stage, and is playing at different intensities. Durant, who Nash says is “getting there”, is probably the closest to a return.
