Since February, the Golden State Warriors missed out on one of their most impactful players, Andrew Wiggins. The former All-Star forward is an instrumental piece for the defending champions. According to several reports, Wiggins missed time due to family matters. As an organization, Stephen Curry and Co. often claimed his worries to be bigger than basketball. Speculations and rumors flew around, but the story is still unknown. Some even said his girlfriend was unfaithful. Concerns rammed up among the fans who missed Wiggins in action. The Twitterverse exploded when Woj sent out his most recent spicy tweet. As discussions about Wiggins’ potential return kept building up, the NBA insider comes bearing the answers. According to his sources, the 28-year-old is targeting a return ‘early this week’. The Warriors forward will be back after missing several games due to personal matters.
Wojnarowski wrote, “ESPN Sources: Golden State Warriors All-Star forward Andrew Wiggins is nearing a return to the team and is expected to be back early this week. Wiggins has missed 21 games attending to a family matter. Huge boost for the defending champions and sixth seed in the West.”
As Woj said, it will be a huge boost for the Golden State Warriors without question. With Andrew Wiggins in the lineup, the Bay area has a formidable defender to play besides Draymond Green. Moreover, his 17.1 points per game and 39% three-point shooting flow like butter through the Warriors’ offensive system. While Stephen Curry is the focal point, Wiggins has proven that he can heat up and take pressure off his star teammate.

Apart from his offensive productions, what the mighty Warriors missed most was his impact on the defensive side of the ball game. Wiggins is probably one of the most skilled on-ball defenders in the NBA today. His defense on Jayson Tatum down the stretch in last year’s finals put him in conversation to win the Finals MVP honors. Without the former All-Star, their defense crumbled, especially in the period they missed the service of Stephen Curry as well.
