Recently, NBA Insider Bill Simmons suggested a possible three-team trade that could see Green being traded to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for some lucrative options and picks. Moreover, the Atlanta Hawks point guard, Trae Young, also suggested in a tweet that Green was trying to get to LA with his recent altercation with Jordan Poole, as he is quite close to LeBron James. The Los Angeles Lakers legend’s friend Rich Paul’s Klutch Sports also manages Draymond Green. Thus, there have been rumors floating around about Green possibly ending up with the Lakers after the controversy with his teammate.

Draymond Green could go to the Lakers

Bill Simmons reckoned that if the Warriors were unwilling to extend Green’s contract after the upcoming season, he could pose more problems ahead. Thus, Simmons suggested a three-way trade involving Warriors’ Draymond Green, Lakers’ Russell Westbrook, and Indian Pacers’ Buddy Hield and Myles Turner. If the Warriors move Green, Bill Simmons said, “I think Detroit’s a possibility, the Lakers are a possibility, and Dallas.”

The Los Angeles Lakers have been inching to trade Russell Westbrook this off-season. However, no fruitful result has come out of negotiations with a few teams. The Lakers were in talks with the Brooklyn Nets for a possible trade between Kyrie Irving and Westbrook. But, the negotiations broke down after Kevin Durant decided to stay another season with the Nets.

Moreover, the Lakers reportedly considered offering a trade package to the Indian Pacers. The Lakers would have sent Westbrook and their two unprotected first-round picks (2027 and 2029) in exchange for Myles Turner and Buddy Hield.

Will The Warriors Trade Green?

Simmons suggested that the Warriors could step into the deal involving the Lakers and Pacers. Westbrook could be traded to the Pacers while Myles Turner could be sent to the Warriors, while the Lakers get Draymond Green. Bill Simmons further insisted that the Warriors could also end up saving $70 million in luxury tax.
