Charles Barkley and Michael Jordan shared the NBA stage as rivals for nearly a decade. The pair were arguably among the best players of their generation. Their battle in the 1993 NBA finals goes down in history. Moreover, their competitive drive and passion for the game brought them close. There was a time Barkley regarded His Airness as a close friend. However, 21 years ago, he lived a nightmare failing to answer a simple question regarding the six-time champions. Now, his podcast co-host Ernie Johnson gave him flashbacks of the incident.
Celebrity Jeopardy is one of the longest-running shows on television. The modern-day edition however is a separate entity from Jeopardy. In 2001, the Round Mound of Rebound came into play. He went up against actor Jeff Probst and famous author Martha Stewart. Embarrassingly, the NBA on TNT analyst ended the edition with a total of 0 points.

However, that wasn’t the worst of it. Notably, Barkley got the golden chance to earn points when a simple Michael Jordan question came up. But instead, Stewart took home the points. Now, 21 years later, Ernie Johnson brought back the awkward memory for Chuck.
Charles Barkley missed out on a Michael Jordan question
In the recent edition of Steam Room, Barkley and Johnson were joined by WNBA legend Candace Parker. While discussing their appearances on Jeopardy, the former NBA MVP spoke about his experience. However, it seems his co-host came prepared for more. Notably, he showed Parker a clip where Barkley let Martha Stewart beat him in a question that had Michael Jordan as the answer.
Later, the 66-year-old said, “Chuckster had a great moment back when he did Celebrity Jeopardy. I’m not even going to set it up just, all I’m going to tell you is Martha Stewart beat him to this one.”

Full of embarrassment, Chares Barkley immediately blamed the button for his unexpected downfall. While it may seem like an excuse, the NBA Top 75 star had support from Candace Parker.
Notably, as soon as she heard him speak about the button, she had her hands up in shock. To give context, the two-time WNBA champion competed on a recent edition of Celebrity Jeopardy. During an interview with Insider, she spoke about her dream coming true. However, she also emphasized how the button to answer made her time on the show really tough.
