Despite being married to one of the biggest basketball stars in the world Gabrielle Union is quite successful in her own right. She’s an established actor who’s made an appearance in various television shows and movies. She recently opened up about the similarities between her latest acting project and real life.

Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union got hitched in 2014. They share a daughter together. What’s interesting about their relationship is the nine-year age gap between them. Union is almost a decade older than her husband. It’s rare to see the woman of the relationship being older than the man in a celebrity relationship. Turns out her real-life relationship is quite similar to her reel life relationship.

Gabrielle Union reveals an uncanny resemblance

Gabrielle Union, in a conversation with USA Today spoke about her upcoming series ‘The Perfect Find’ which is set to release on Netflix. In the series Union is seen falling for a man who is very much younger than her. She was quick to point out the fact that the web series mimics her life.

She said, “I lived it. Being with someone who’s nine years younger than me and dealing with it. In the very beginning, [Wade’s mother] was like … ‘What do you want?’ … So, you pull from those things.” She revealed that she took inspiration from her very own relationship with the three-time NBA Champion. She also remembered the time she had to deal with Wade’s mother questioning their relationship. It seems the web series is going to be a rather interesting one. Basketball fans especially will be eagerly waiting for the series to air on Netflix.

Notably, the actress is not afraid to against the societal norms as she was seen getting involved in a fight for a noble cause.

Union expresses her support for Labor rights in Hollywood

Gabrielle Union is an outspoken supporter of the LGBTQ Community. Recently she expressed her support for the members of the Writers Guild of America. She has joined the fight to create better and decent working circumstances for the guild’s distinguished members. She wrote on twitter, “Why we do what we do, the fight continues.”
