14x NBA All-Star Michael Jordan has been dominating the news cycle even decades after his retirement from professional basketball. This time, he made headlines after his remarks about his son’s relationship went viral.

As people try to analyze the situation, an old interview has resurfaced, which shows a former NBA player adding his thoughts on the matter.

Marcus and Larsa Pippen’s Relationship

Marcus Jordan is the second child of the former Chicago Bulls player and his ex-wife, Juanita Vanoy.

Relationship rumors started to spark after the 32-year-old Jordan was spotted hanging out with Reality TV personality Larsa Pippen back in late 2022. The duo confirmed their relationship via Instagram in January.

Not only does the couple share an age gap of 16 years, moreover, Larsa also happens to be the ex-wife of Scottie Pippen, a former teammate of Marcus’s father. The 7x NBA All-Star and Larsa were married for 24 years.

Various negative comments became associated with the ‘Real Housewives of Miami’ star after her relationship with Marcus became official. Despite this, the couple remains very open about their association with each other. Larsa had stated that Marcus’s parents were quite happy with them being together during an interview on the Tamron Hall show. When asked if she has their blessing, she replied with a definite “Yes”.

Those remarks have come to light after Michael said “No” when he was asked by a reporter about his thoughts on the relationship.

In light of Michael Jordan publicly expressing his disapproval over his son’s girlfriend, a part of an old interview has been re-uploaded on the internet. The interview features former Detroit Pistons player John Salley and was conducted by VladTV, a Youtube channel with over 5.53 Million followers.

When talking about the fact that Larsa is dating Marcus now and has separated from her ex, Salley made use of 4 words to place his faith in the couple: “I hope it lasts”.

“I hope it lasts through all of the fluff that’s happening,” said Salley. “I hope it lasts through that because it could be a problem”

Salley only played with the Bulls for one season. Despite that, the player developed a close friendship with the Black Cat. The player also shared the stage with Scottie Pippen and got to know him well. His appreciation for Pipen’s basketball skills was so high that he once claimed in an interview that Pipen was better than Jordan.
