NBA superstar Michael Jordan‘s son Marcus Jordan is one such player who had excited the fans during his college basketball career. Like his father, Marcus too had contributed to the upliftment of his team.
When Marcus Jordan started his college basketball career for the University of Central Florida, fans expected him to follow his father’s path and make it to the NBA. Michael Jordan’s deal with Nike is one of the golden chapters in the NBA folklore. Following his father’s footsteps, Marcus too endorsed Nike during his college basketball career. In a recent episode in Boardroom, the Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant spoke about the McDonalds All-American tournament and alluded to Marcus Jordan’s Nike endorsement and appreciated him.
Like the Jordans, Kevin Durant too is a fan of Nike. He said “Nike is just the better option and I am sure that helped out their school even more. I mean, Marcus accelerated the process so everybody wants to be a part. Check baby!”
When Marcus Jordan joined the UCF team, the side was in the final year of a five-year deal with Adidas. However, Marcus insisted he will wear Nike Air Jordan shoes and showed up wearing a pair of Air Jordan XIIs in a 2009 exhibition game. This prompted Adidas to walk out of its deal with the college. Subsequently, Nike picked up UCF as a sponsor and the sponsorship is still live and running.

The Air Jordan XII is also known as Rising Sun, as its design was inspired by the Japanese flag. MJ23 showcased the iconic Rising Sun during the 1996-97 season. His Airness and co marched into glory and defended the title during that season. In the finals against the Utah Jazz, MJ wore Air Jordan XII and led the Bulls into triumph.
