Boston propelled her fame in the NBA world as she won the 2022 NCAA title and added numerous awards to her credit. In the meantime, an Indiana Pacers icon was quick to laud Boston’s recent iconic achievement, surprising a lot of NBA fans.

After leading the South Carolina team to the final four in this year’s NCAA tournament, the Indiana Fever selected Aliyah Boston as the first overall pick in the 2023 WNBA draft last night. Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton was more than excited to learn that Aliyah Boston made it to the Indiana-based franchise in the WNBA. Despite the buzz surrounding the first overall pick of the 2023 WNBA draft, fans revealed their confusion about the draft.

Aliyah Boston became a favorite of the NBA community after winning last year’s NCAA championship. Adding fuel to her fame, Aliyah Boston teamed up with the legendary Stephen Curry and many elite athletes to endorse the Under Armour brand. The Warriors superstar had famously shaken hands with the sports apparel brand in 2013 and is still keeping the deal live and running.

After joining the Under Armour team in 2022, Aliyah Boston was featured in the famous Protect This House?commercial, along with the mighty Steph Curry and other elite athletes. Now, with her WNBA selection, fellow Indiana icon Tyrese Haliburton has joined Aliyah Boston in her celebration.

Tyrese Haliburton has been garnering the praise of the hoops community on the back of his performances. In only his third season, the 23-year-old became an NBA All-Star.

Haliburton took to twitter and welcomed the March Madness sensation to Indiana. Let?s Go!! Welcome to Indy @aa_boston, he wrote, in his tweet. However, many fans did not share the Pacers star’s enthusiasm. They were rather a confused lot that chimed in on social media.

NCAA star’s big update elicits a confused response from fans

Given an NBA star’s adulation of the WNBA draft, the entire episode naturally has to be a big thing in the hoops world. However, the responses from many fans reveal that the draft was far from an important thing. A plethora of fans rushed into ESPN’s Instagram post on Aliyah Boston’s update, and said that they were not even aware of the draft. “There?s a draft?,”?a fan commented on ESPN’s post.

While the prospects of the 2023 NBA draft has been a talk of the town in hoops world for months, fans revealed that they were clueless about the WNBA draft till it happened.
