Said young fella, You’re gonna know when you’re supposed to leave the game because everything around you, you’re not gonna recognize none of it. And I didn’t understand it at that time and we’re in Miami, Game 7 and they beat us. And about two minutes to go, I look up and it hit me. Man, it’s over… it was over. That was the beginning of the end.’

Garnett’s time in the league

Kevin Garnett was a tremendous force on the court. His impressive list of accolades attests to his dominating performance. His nine 1st Team All-Defense awards, which tie him with basketball legends Michael Jordan, Gary Payton, and Kobe Bryant, are among his most outstanding achievements.

Despite all of his achievements, Garnett’s devotion to Minnesota might have hindered the awards he could have received. Garnett would have had more opportunities to play with the GOATS and contend for titles if he had not been so devoted to the Minnesota Timberwolves, early in his career. If he did, he might have added one or more Finals MVP awards to his collection of accolades. However, there’s no denying that Garnett’s exceptional talent and achievements have placed him among the all-time best players.
