Kyrie also talks about his vaccination stance. He said that he didn’t appreciate how him being unvaccinated came to be a stigma within his career. This ‘stigma’ surrounding his career failed to find any suitors for him in the off-season, forcing him to stay in Brooklyn. According to him, the Nets had a max extension ready for him if he got vaccinated this summer. But he remains firm on his stance. “I gave up 4 years, 100-something million to be unvaccinated,”
Despite all the noise, the 7x All-Star and NBA champion averaged over 27 points, 4 rebounds, and 6 assists. However, his distractions to the team proved to be more detrimental than his performance. The nets failed to make it past the first round this year. Moreover, they became the only team to get swept 0-4 in the entire playoffs.
