A fight broke out in the Minnesota Timberwolves camp during their last Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans. Caught up in the heat of the moment were Kyle Anderson and Rudy Gobert. Gobert threw a punch at Anderson after a short altercation between the two players. The French national was immediately sent home as his behavior was deemed “unacceptable”, whereas Anderson stayed in the game.

After the fiasco, Gobert apologized to his teammate and acknowledged his mistake. Recently LA Lakers legend Shaquille O’Neal addressed the issue on The Big Podcast. Shaq understood Anderson’s frustration while he gave a reality check to the highly paid Gobert over his actions.

While discussing the recent fight inside the Wolves camp, Shaq was furious over Gobert’s actions. He said that if you show Gobert’s salary to someone who is not familiar with the sport, they will assume he is the best player on the roster. However, the reality is far away from that.

Notably, Gobert’s five-year-long contract fetches him over $200 million. The 4x NBA champion said, “A lot of people, including his teammates are not happy with how he is playing. He is playing lazy,” and he is not living up to the expectations and requirements of his team as a defensive player.

The Big Man added that he understands Anderson’s position in the recent drama. Looking at the clip of their fight, Shaq said, “This right here is a teammate frustrated at you for not playing defense, and he jumps on you.”

The Lakers icon added that it is not unusual for a teammate to be frustrated by your lack of effort. He also compared the recent drama with his altercations with Rick Fox and the late great Kobe Bryant during his time with the Lakers. He said that teammates go at each other because it is their duty to hand out accountability to the ones who are lacking in their responsibility.

Shaq added that although a lot of people were not happy with Gobert’s trade, he wanted the high school athletes to pay attention. He said, “If you could do something similar to him or better than him, this is your chance to make $250 [million].”
