One player who has close to no hope of returning for his current side, is Philadelphia 76ers’ Ben Simmons. He is on the lookout for a potential trade, and the Sixers are in a dilemma. In the wake of a difficult situation, President of basketball operations Daryl Morey has reportedly expressed a keen desire to sign another quality guard. In a move that would upset Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets, this player is none other than James Harden.

James Harden has been a relentless workaholic for the Nets. After a successful stint with the Houston Rockets, the 32-year-old opted out, in order to win the NBA crown that has evaded him. 76ers looking for late James Harden move to shock Kevin Durant
The duo of Harden and Durant has developed over time. Now, the guard-forward pairing packs a phenomenal one-two punch. However, Harden has been slightly inconsistent for Steve Nash’s side. Although there is nothing concrete, this may tempt him towards a change of environment. For a long time, Morey and the 76ers have been interested in signing the experienced campaigner. Now, a potential swap deal is a possibility.

According to Brooklyn Nets insider Alec Strum, Sixers President Daryl Morey has kept Harden high on his list of acquisitions. Also a top candidate, is Portland Trail Blazers’ Damian Lillard. After an unsuccessful attempt at landing a deal for James Harden last January, the 9-time All-star may join Joel Embiid and co. this summer via sign-and-trade. This would mean that the estranged Simmons will join the Nets, in a move that could send shock waves around the league.
Though this move is still in question, it will be an extremely interesting swap. Which team do you think comes out as the winner? As popular analyst Stephen A Smith said, Durant needs some support. Is Ben Simmons the best bet for such a role?
