In a recent interview with a popular news website, Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson talked about being an example. According to him, superstars like Michael Jordan, LeBron James, and himself have set an example in their community.

Magic Johnson on setting an example

Thanks to the immense popularity of the game, NBA stars face no problem with endorsements and salaries. Most players playing for NBA teams are on huge salaries which amount to big net worths. Hence, players know how to give back to their community. Despite having a busy schedule, stars like LeBron James are known for their charity initiatives.

Talking to The Undefeated, Lakers legend Magic Johnson stressed this topic. According to Johnson, every single star goes back to their community to help in development.

He said, “It’s Black excellence. It’s men who excelled at the game of basketball. Men who also stood tall in their community, who were leaders on the court, but also off the court, and we embraced our being Black.”

Johnson further adds, “We embraced being leaders in our community and we gave of ourselves to, hopefully, make our communities better, and our community could touch us.”

Magic Johnson is known for his charity initiatives. The Hall of Famer is among the biggest donors when it comes to charity and helping people out.

Undoubtedly one of the biggest athletes in the world is LeBron James. The 4 time NBA champion is one of the biggest stars in the NBA and is still dominating the league despite being 37.

Apart from his exploits on the court, LeBron does a lot for charity, especially in his hometown Akron. He began his ‘I Promise’ project back when he played for the Miami Heat. The LeBron James Family Foundation invested around $20 million to build a new school and three residential complexes.
