It is not an unknown fact that there are very few suitors for Russell Westbrook in the NBA at the moment. Westbrook has gained a reputation as a poor shot maker and low-percentage three-point shooter. His time at the Los Angeles Lakers only made it worse. He may have been the frontman for the Oklahoma City Thunder and had a good time at the Wizards. But his performance last season didn’t help him.
There were rumors of Westbrook being shopped for Kyrie Irving. The Nets were unwilling to take the extra $7 million in salary for Westbrook. Recently, Mavericks recently joined that long list of teams that are keeping themselves away from any talks involving Westbrook.

Tim McMahon, who works for ESPN, is an insider for the Dallas Mavericks. On an episode of Brian Windhorst & The Hoop Collective podcast, he completely negated any possibility of Westbrook wearing a Mavericks Jersey. McMahon was not easy on Russell Westbrook as he completely scorched him with his disrespectful words.
Moreover, the only way Mavericks can get their hands on Westbrook is if the Lakers buy him out and he signs veteran minimum. Dallas Mavericks want nothing to do with Russell Westbrook
Los Angeles Lakers point guard Westbrook averaged 18.5 points in the 78 games he played. These numbers might be good for most players, but not for a former MVP in Westbrook. Essentially, the 2021-22 season was one of the worst seasons of his career.?
Westbrook used to be the go-to guy for all the Thunder teams that made deep playoff runs. Moreover, his poor assist-to-turnover ratio and inability to be efficient come clutch time are his Achilles. This is probably why the Dallas Mavericks are not interested in his talents.
