Doncic has the build of a powerhouse; he is tailor-made to be a star in the NBA who thrives on physicality. Yet, this stature also leads to some fitness concerns in the long run. In a recent interview, the 2-time All-star has observed some issues that could hamper his campaign.

In the 2020-21 edition of the league, Luka averaged close to 28 points. The powerhouse knows his way around the court, and has impeccable physical abilities and accuracy. In the current season, new coach Jason Kidd is bringing out an evolved version of his European superstar. So far, the Slovenian has amassed close to 26 points per game in the 2021-22 outing. In spite of this, the Mavericks are struggling in the Western Conference. And now, Luka’s latest statements may blow the lid further open.

‘Got to do better’: Luka Doncic addresses fitness issues
When we talk of generational talents, the Slovenian sensation comes on top of most lists right now. At the age of 22, Luka Doncic has already become the marquee player for the Dallas Mavericks. He is part-taking in his fourth season with the franchise at the moment. In 2018, the youngster was the third pick in Round-1 of the NBA Draft. However, after a long time, it seems like the questions regarding his health have self-admittedly caught up to him.
On Tuesday night, the Mavericks went crashing down to the Brooklyn Nets. In spite of being his team’s top scorer, many doubted whether Luka’s health matches the standards of America’s top flight. According to ESPN, the overseas star weighed over 260 pounds at training camp, in spite of being listed as 230 pounds. Addressing the same, Doncic said, “People are going to talk about it [my fitness], yes or no. I know I’ve got to do better.”
