Even though it’s a month away, all anybody can talk about is the NBA and NBPA’s decision to go ahead with this year’s All-Star Game on March 7 in Atlanta. However, the league probably didn’t receive the reaction they expected. On one hand, there are people who are not happy with this and on the other hand, some have faith in the NBA for conducting the event in the safest way possible. But Dallas Mavericks’ Luka Doncic doesn’t mind it either way.

Luka Doncic is happy with both outcomes

When the coronavirus pandemic started last year, the league opted for the Orlando Bubble to resume its season. Everyone part of the organization had to follow certain rules of health and protocol. With a complete physical cut off from the outside world, the bubble was a safe success.

However, this season so far, many players have tested positive. And getting so many players, coaches, staff members from different teams together certainly screams ‘risk’. In fact, top players of the league like LeBron James have expressed their disapproval as well, for many reasons. Sacramento Kings’ De’Aaron Fox followed in their footsteps and even called the idea “stupid.”

But Luka Doncic doesn’t share the same opinion. As per Brown Townsend, Luka said, “For me, it’s whatever is going to be is going to be. If I get selected, then obviously I will be grateful and take advantage of the opportunity. If not, then I will enjoy my time off.”

Luka made his first appearance in this All-Star game last season, and it’s definitely not going to be his final appearance. As per the first round of the votes that were revealed, Doncic is the second most voted guard in the West.

The star has had a brilliant first half in the 2020-21 campaign. He is averaging 27.9 points, 9.5 assists, and 8.7 rebounds, even though the Mavericks have one of the worst records so far in the West.

So far, it looks like the league is still leaning towards going through with the event. What are your thoughts on the NBA’s decision of keeping the All-Star game?
