However, this wasn’t the end of the embarrassment for the Mavs, as they suffered an upsetting loss at the hands of the San Antonio Spurs on the final day of the regular season. The Dallas Mavericks stunned the basketball world when they announced that they would be resting all their starters except Doncic in a do-or-die game. However, Luka played only for 13 minutes against the Chicago Bulls as the Mavericks suffered a heartbreaking season-ending loss to the Bulls.?

When asked about the baffling decision, the Slovenian guard mentioned, “I didn’t like it. That’s it.”?After missing the playoffs for the second time in his career, the Mavs feared Luka Doncic might leave the organization after a disappointing season. However, it seems like Doncic wants to be a loyal franchise player.?

The 6’7 guard mentioned,?“I’m happy here. There’s nothing to worry about it” when asked where he stands with the Mavericks. However, anything might happen in the future considering the poor performances of the Mavs.

Losing to the bottom-seed team by 21 points in the final game of the season didn’t help matters. Anyhow, Doncic seems content to be a part of the organization, for now. Moreover, the Mavs’ 42-14 deficit to the Spurs after the first quarter is the largest first-quarter deficit in franchise history.

Mavericks might re-build for the next season

Mavs star Christian Wood, who joined the Dallas last year, might look forward to changing his team this summer. After revealing his interest in exploring the free agent market, it is likely that he won’t be returning. Further, head coach Jason Kidd, also revealed the Mavericks will have a lot of new faces next season, assuring fans of a promising change in the team.
