After a convincing win in Game 1, the Golden State Warriors are feeling the heat. The Luka Doncic led Dallas Mavericks have brought in their A-game in Game 2 of the WCF. Both the blockbuster stars, Doncic and Stephen Curry, are trading bucket for bucket. Likewise, NBA Twitter compares them to soccer’s legendary rivalry between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
The Warriors took Game 1 in a blowout win and got the early lead in this series. They closed out the Mavericks’ main man, Doncic holding him to his playoff low 20 points this season. However, the Slovenian can’t do without getting back. And he is doing exactly that in Game 2. Doncic is leading from the front as the Mavericks lead big on the road.

But the three-point king Stephen Curry is going toe to toe and trying to keep the Warriors in the game. And NBA Twitter is loving the matchup between the two point guards.

In a game filled with thrill, the leading stars are putting on a show. Both Curry and Doncic had a huge first half in the game. However, it is the Mavericks who are dominating on the road on the back of a team effort. With a deficit of 14 points entering the second half, the Warriors are on the back foot. However, the show put on by Doncic and Steph is being admired by the NBA fans.
Likewise, they took to Twitter to comment on the intense duel. Comparing it to soccer’s longest rivalry between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, it is clear that Curry and Doncic have hit fans in the best way. Their effort on the court has kept this game competitive as the NBA fanbase waits in anticipation for the second part of the duel.

The Mavericks enjoyed an early lead in the first quarter thanks to huge efforts from both Luka Doncic and Jalen Brunson. The Mavericks’ All-Star led the way, scoring 24 points in the first half. Doncic had also dished out 7 assists and is in full flow against the Bay. As for Brunson, he is also going big with 23 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists. The shooters in Bullock and Finney-Smith are flourishing as well, hitting a combined 7-12 from downtown. However, the home team isn’t backing down.
Despite a loose first half, the Warriors are making their way back into the ball game. Stephen Curry is leading the troops with 22 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists. His secondary scorers, Klay Thompson and Jordan Poole, are struggling to get shots off, but have surely found their rhythm. They have put on a combined 22 points so far. Big man Kevon Looney is coming up huge once again after his dominating game on the boards in the previous series. He has posted 15 points and 7 rebounds so far with the Warriors inching close to a comeback.
