The arrival of Houston Rockets legend James Harden only made the Brooklyn Nets an even bigger force. The side already possessed the likes of Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant. Despite their best efforts, the side failed to win the league. However, a major controversy was whether or not Harden intentionally decided to alter his work ethic in order to leave Houston and join Brooklyn.

Towards the dying days of his stint with the Rockets, ‘the beard’ looked evidently unfit. There were many talks of Harden having done it just so that he could make his way out. After all, the 32-year-old went through a string of unfortunate seasons with the men in red and black. His arrival at the Nets setup pretty much confirmed their status as a super team. However, a recent incident involving Harden left fans questioning the irony of the situation.

James Harden talks to youngsters about work ethic, fans baffled

In a recent video, James Harden was talking to a group of young basketball aspirants about putting in the necessary work. He motivated the group, and also quoted, “Make yourselves sweat, or else you ain’t putting in enough work.” He also spoke about sweating it out, using time wisely and giving it your all. On the contrary, fans opted to have a little laugh about his speech, recalling the Rockets incident.

One fan said, “Harden is the LAST person I would have talk to my kid about work ethic. He literally quit on his team.” Meanwhile, another hilariously stated, “What he know about work ethic.” Yet another person tweeted, “Lose 20 pounds then talk about work ethic my guy.” Clearly, his motivational talk did not go well with the NBA twitter. Instead, they retaliated against the Nets star himself.
