The Los Angeles Lakers have had a tough time this season. Their offseason move to get Russell Westbrook has failed to impress. Along with that, they have been hampered by injuries and health and safety protocols. The Lakers currently sit 8th in the West with a below .500 record.

With all the chatter, the Lakers are trying to find a solution through the trade market. They have been in the market finding out how to make this team better. One of the names which have come recently is that of a 16-year-old veteran, Lou Williams.

Lou Williams is arguably one of the greatest sixth men of all time. Even though he is in his twilight years, he can still get buckets in a hurry. With Atlanta struggling and Lou not getting enough playing, the Lakers might be a possible destination for him. He is exactly the kind of player the Lakers can target with their limited salary space.

Lou can provide them with instant offense off the bench and he is also a good playmaker. It will be very interesting to see what the Lakers can offer and how it all works out.

Russell Westbrook and his struggles with the Lakers

Los Angeles Lakers have tried to make it work with Westbrook with multiple different lineups but have failed to adjust to him. Russ is also having one of his worst seasons as a pro. He has been averaging 18.6 points on 43.7% shooting from the field and 29.6% from three.

Russ also leads the league in turnovers per game. His ability to finish at the rim has also seemingly disappeared. His shot selection and late-game decision-making have also been subpar. Russ’s inability to shoot the three consistently has clogged the lane for LeBron and company.

The Lakers have tried to work it out, but it just seems they do not have a solution to their problem. And it’s not only Westbrook’s fault. Anthony Davis hasn’t played like a top 5 player in the league and he has been out for 20 games due to injury.

Malik Monk and Carmelo Anthony have shown a few sparks, but they are far too inconsistent. The main cause of concern for the Lakers should be their lack of effort. At times, the Lakers do like a championship contender, but they switch off in between games. They have been complacent, giving up big leads and losing to bad teams.
