Frances Tiafoe is an American dream packed in a 6’2” body. He has always troubled the top seeds with his smashing forehand & electrifying energy. But more than his tennis greatness, the 23-YO is popular for being a LeBron James doppelganger and the Kingly celebration that he showcases after each big win.

After pulling Wimbledon shocker and upsetting Stefanos Tsitsipas in Round 1, the man did it again at the US Open. He defeated Russian Andrey Rublev in a marathon five-setter that started on Friday late at night and ended Saturday early morning. And now, even King James has reacted to that win and the mimicry that followed.

LeBron James with a shoutout for Frances Tiafoe

After his third-round win over a top-seed Rublev, Tiafoe could not control but perform a King James-styled celebration. He removed his shirt, thumped his thighs, pumped his chest, yelled at top of his lungs, and stood as the rails to roar towards the fans.

Later, just as Bron noticed this, he reacted. The 36-YO took to the Instagram story and wrote, “The Silencer” with a hushing smiley and King’s crown emoji. This was his response to @Sportscenter that tagged Bron on a post with his celebration video. Take a look –

Certainly, King James recognizes Tiafoe is America’s top tennis talent in the men’s category and is sure to bring laurels to his nation.

The striking similarities between King Bron and the tennis hero

For one, both LeBron James and Frances Tiafoe are crowd charmers, who know their way around fans. Secondly, Tiafoe’s first gift to his family after making it huge was a house in Beltsville, just like Bron did with his Bath Township property in 2003. Plus, their headband, as well as the hairstyle, match like they’re lost brothers from the same mother. Last but not least, Bron is also a tennis fan, and that his company produced the Naomi Osaka Netflix documentary proves it well.

Also, the US Open celebration wasn’t the first time Tiafoe pulled a Bron. Back in 2019, a 21-YO Frances had emulated King James in an even crazier fashion. Take a look –

Now, the only part where Tiafoe is yet to match with his idol is the championship victory. The young American is still to reach the finals of a major, let alone win it. However, he holds every potential to make it happen in the coming week. Stay tuned because if he does that, who knows Bron shows up at Arthur Ashe too!
