The Los Angeles Lakers have not been performing well this season. They had a decent start to the season. They were winning games and making an impact on the Western Conference. However, this soon changed as both LeBron James and Anthony Davis had to sit out quite a few games. Their team has not been adjusting well to their offseason moves.
LeBron made it pretty clear to the management that he wants Russell Westbrook traded. However, the Laker authorities were unsuccessful in landing a trade centered around Westbrook before the trade deadline. Subsequent to this, LeBron has shown his displeasure with the Lakers quite often during the All-Star Weekend. He has also shown his willingness to leave the Lakers.

On an episode of Undisputed: Skip and Shannon, Nick says “I cannot believe how badly Lakers management is bungling this. They got into the LeBron James business. Everyone knows what that comes with. They got the championship, they got Anthony Davis. They had the full meal and now the cheque is coming due. They’re looking around thinking who’s picking this up.”
The Lakers need to give up hopes for their future and please LeBron now. They need to make him happy enough to stay. LeBron is the most relevant player in the league today, and that makes the Lakers the most relevant team. If the Lakers want to keep James, they will have to engage in his wishes.

The Lakers‘ season started on a good note. The team was playing well, and they were winning games. There was a point in the initial phases of the league when they were in the top 3 of the West. However, all this changed as the season moved on.
All the other teams stepped up in terms of performance. On the other hand, the Lakers deteriorated. Anthony Davis is brittle and keeps getting injured often. He recovers, comes to play, gets exhausted, and gets injured again. Lakers and Davis are now stuck in this vicious cycle.
Westbrook, their other superstar, has not had a single good game this season. He has been stuck in his slump since the beginning of the season. LeBron has been trying to pick up the slack, however, due to his old age, even he has not been devoid of injuries.
